Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dispensing Optician to join a team in London on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave. As a Dispensing Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional eyecare services and helping patients find the perfect eyewear solutions. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Dispensing and Fitting: Assist patients in selecting, fitting, and adjusting eyeglasses and contact lenses according to their prescription and lifestyle needs.

  2. Prescription Verification: Ensure the accuracy of eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions through precise measurements and lens evaluations.

  3. Frame Selection: Guide patients in choosing frames that complement their facial features, style, and budget while promoting the highest level of vision correction.

  4. Lens Recommendation: Advise patients on various lens options, including coatings, tints, and materials, to enhance visual acuity and comfort.

  5. Patient Consultations: Conduct comprehensive consultations, addressing patient concerns and providing information on eyecare, lens care, and eyewear maintenance.

  6. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform minor eyewear repairs and adjustments, including soldering and frame realignment, to ensure optimal fit and comfort.

  7. Insurance Claims: Assist patients with vision insurance claims, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing.

  8. Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain optical product inventory, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses, to ensure a well-stocked and organised dispensary.

  9. Compliance: Adhere to all relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices, including patient confidentiality and health and safety protocols.

  10. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive eyecare services and referrals when necessary.
